Enchantment makes life worth living
Do you remember a time when you felt deeply absorbed in a sense of awe and wonder? The natural world is full of magic, unfolding every second through the aliveness of each and every being. This feeling is important and sacred - it is what makes this trip to earth worthwhile.
Living in the city, we are fully engrossed in the grind of life, in cycles of work and responsibilities that never stop. We don’t truly rest even on breaks, and we rush around during holidays. Over time, the speed of life wears us down and disenchants us from the value of being alive.
This retreat invites you to venture to a new place not just for the photographs, but to develop a heartfelt relationship with the land and receive its gifts which can deeply nourish our mind, body and soul. You are going to remember the joy of being here.

Heart of the Sacred Mountains
Bali is known as the Island of the Gods, the locals believe that all nature beings have a spirit, and especially so for the revered volcanic mountains, Mount Batur and Mount Agung. We will rest right in the heart of these magnificent mountains, in the vastness of this blessed land. Experience the land not just as a place to visit, but as an energy that is alive and a relationship to be nurtured through heartfelt moments. Expect spaciousness, inspiration, and curiosity to be sparked as you live on this beautiful glampsite, in timelessness and beauty.

The glamp is located in an open space in nature with occasional appearance of interesting bugs such as bees, hornets, butterflies and beetles which are usually harmless unless rattled. The glampsite is set in an area known for organic farming which causes a population of black flies during hotter times of the day but disappears by sunset.
The techniques of forest bathing expand our ability to co-exist with these beings.

You are invited to check in on your readiness and willingness to meet with your fears. The forest bathing practice offers a brave space for gentle encountering, relaxing your nervous system for a friendlier meeting with the common fears like darkness, insects, water, or being alone.
The method has effectively supported the experience of previous retreat participants, and we are enriched by an expanded capacity to experience more of life's richness. However, if you have clinical conditions like extreme phobia or OCD, you are encouraged to consult with your physician.

The purpose of retreats
The purpose of traveling to a faraway place, is to find the way home to ourselves.
Reality is shaped by what we surround ourselves with. It’s easy to get caught in the rhythm of daily routines, filling every moment with work, responsibilities, and distractions. But when we step away—when we give ourselves space—something shifts. Retreats offer that pause, a chance to step beyond the familiar and awaken to the vastness of life beyond our bubble of beliefs.
At Gentle Retreat, we create space for soft encounters—with joy, with fear, and with the truths that quietly rest within us. Both light and shadow have wisdom to offer, guiding us toward deeper understanding and a more Whole self. Our retreats are intentionally spacious, slow, and deeply nourishing—designed to replenish you and reconnect you to what truly matters.
Take a breath, step outside and rediscover yourself in the stillness.
you deserve rest, and the world deserves a rested you.

Warm Greetings! I’m Jovena, and I founded Gentle Walks with the mission of creating a gentler world on earth.
Since young, I had an innate affection for small animals, but the wild natural world was always fearsome to me. It took me many trips and adventures outside of this island to open up to nature’s wonders and to be moved by the magnificence of Mother Earth.
I only chanced upon forest bathing in 2021 when I was going through a rough mid-life crisis. Nature became an important medicine for my anxiety and a training ground to build self-acceptance, courage and faith. After feeling its positive effects on my mental and physical health, it became clear that it was my calling to be the voice of the forest, and the bridge for others to come home to this natural world.
Bali has been a healing place for my soul, and I was deeply moved by the beauty of Mount Batur and Mount Agung. The moment I stepped foot in Kintamani, I know I am home. The land has a special energy that words can’t describe, but it filled my entire being with inspiration, vastness and joy. I am confident you will feel it too.
Forest bathing is a great practice for those who love nature, and even more so for those who don’t. It rewilds us softly and reignites our love for Mother Earth’s creations. So, come as you are. You are safe with us.
